Leads Cost Less with Inbound Marketing

Hubspot's 2012 State of Inbound Marketing report provides an illuminating insight into the relative costs of lead generation for companies predominantly using Inbound Marketing and Outbound Marketing approaches.

Here's what they found:

  • Organisations focusing on Inbound Marketing report a 61% lower cost per lead than those focusing on traditional 'outbound' marketing
  • Average cost per lead for companies primarily using Inbound techniques: $135
  • Average cost per lead for companies primarily using Outbound techniques: $346

The survey was conducted in January 2012, with 972 marketing professionals interviewed.
